Biofilm is difficult to remove once forms, and it poses risks to surgical patients if it detaches from endoscopes or instruments. In this session, we will discuss what biofilm is and how it is formed, the consequences of failing to properly preclean flexible endoscopes and surgical instruments, the significance of log reductions, and the tools and technology that are available for precleaning instruments.
