This presentation will provide a proven approach to integrate sterile processing, the OR, and infection prevention to develop and implement a sustainable approach for a project or process. The speakers will describe the core and ad hoc team members needed to audit current department processes to provide a baseline for comparing those processes to industry best practices. From the audit findings, the teams can prioritize an action plan with real-time data for key performance indicators.
After this session you’ll be able to:
- Describe and define ANSI/AAMI and AORN definitions and recommendations for a multidisciplinary team.
- Identify core members and ad hoc or provisional members of a multidisciplinary team and the tools needed to form and sustain those teams.
- Describe guidelines for combined rounding by the team and the importance of documenting activities.
